Why do I need a funeral Plan?
When you buy a prepaid funeral plan, you’re choosing to fix key funeral costs at today’s prices.
A funeral plan lets you arrange your funeral in advance and pay for funeral director services at today’s prices, so you’ll have peace of mind that your family will be taken care of when the time comes.
More than 100,000 people have made their funeral plans with Avalon over the past 30 years and rely on us to ensure their wishes will be respected and they’ll be remembered just how they want to be.
We work with local funeral directors to provide prepaid funeral plans in the UK that deliver the high standards and personalised service you expect, and that you and your family deserve.
We also provide funeral plans for expats in Spain, Cyprus and Portugal, protecting your loved ones from the costs and complications of planning a funeral abroad.
We offer a range of funeral plans to suit you, whether you’d prefer a low-fuss direct cremation without a funeral service or a more traditional funeral. Whether you’re looking for a UK funeral or a funeral in Spain, Portugal or Cyprus, we can help you find the right option to suit your needs and budget. Find out more about what each plan includes and doesn’t include on the plan pages.

Our funeral plan specialists will take the time to get to know you and your circumstances.
It depends which plan you choose, but a traditional plan includes an appointed funeral director.
Avalon’s Funeral Plans are designed to give you and your family flexible choices, and this includes multiple payment options to suit your circumstances and the plan you choose.
Whether you pay in a lump sum, or prefer regular monthly instalments, in many cases, protection starts immediately – be that full cover, or the benefit of the Avalon Promise (Ts & Cs apply).
Depending on where you live, monthly payments can be spread over 12 or 18 months with no additional costs. For longer payment periods, an instalment charge will be added based on the term you select (age restrictions apply and it’s generally cheaper to pay it off more quickly).
Should your circumstances change, you can cancel your plan at any time. After the cooling-off period, a cancellation fee will apply and only a portion of the instalment charges paid will be refunded to you.
