Independent Age

MoneyHelper and the Money and Pensions Service
MoneyHelper is a free service provided by the Money and Pensions Service.
The Money and Pensions service is an arm’s-length body, sponsored by the Department for Work and Pensions. It has a joint commitment to ensure that people throughout the UK have guidance and access to the information they need to make effective financial decisions over their lifetime.
It’s funded by levies on both the financial services industry and pension schemes.

Help at Home Costa Blanca:
Volunteers offer short-term support and assistance for people of all ages in their own homes. The areas covered are from Pilar de Horadada to La Marina, including Torrevieja, Quesada, Rojales, San Luis, La Zenia, Playa Flamenca, all areas of Orihuela Costa.
Samaritans in Spain:
The confidential telephone service in English covers all of Spain from 10am to 10pm (900 525 100). Outside that time you can call the low-cost UK Samaritans overseas line on (0044) 330 094 5717 which operates a 24hr service.
024 Suicide Prevention:
The 024 helpline provides a place for people to talk, on the phone, through their depression or suicidal thoughts or similar issues that are concerning them. This is an initiative funded by the national government and operates 24 hours a day. Trained staff listen to callers’ concerns carefully and sensitively. They can answer callers in many languages through the help of a teletranslation service. The number does not appear on phone bills (but you may need to delete it from the call record on your own phone handset if you want to).
