Do I need two funeral plans if I spend time living in the UK and Cyprus?
No, you only need one funeral plan. If you spend time living in the UK and Cyprus you can choose Dual Certification, this can provide a funeral in either country depending on where you die. Dual certification does not include repatriation. See the terms and conditions for more information.
Has Brexit affected my funeral plan?
No. Whether you are a new or existing Avalon customer, you are still covered in both countries.
If you do decide to move back to the UK permanently, you can convert your expat plan into a UK plan free of charge (terms and conditions apply).
How can I pay for my funeral plan?
You can choose to pay for your funeral plan either in full or in monthly payments over several years.
For further flexibility, you can increase your payments or pay off the outstanding balance at any point. Our payment options are designed to suit you and your needs, but the sooner you can pay off your plan, the cheaper it will be.
You can also choose whether you would like to pay for your funeral plan in Pounds or Euros.
Can I choose a cremation funeral in Cyprus?
In Cyprus there is no crematorium, so if you want a cremation funeral your body will need to be repatriated to be cremated back in the UK, or opt for a burial in Cyprus instead.
Please note, plans enacted in the UK do not include burial plots.
We’re aware that there are plans to build a crematorium on Cyprus and are monitoring the situation. When and if the crematorium becomes operational, we will look to review our products for this region. Updates will be provided on our website if any new products are introduced that may better suit our customers’ needs.
